I had booked a great-seeming hotel (the Bishop Victorian), which turns out to be over an hour from Port Angeles (where I was taking a weekend class). Oops. Luckily, they resold the reservation (in less than an hour), and the Red Century Home Airbnb in Port Angeles was available (or, rather, they scrambled to make it work). The house was bigger than needed, but nicely updated and in a quiet neighborhood.
I had a solo night, as I left Seattle mid-afternoon. The Goodwill on Lincoln is nothing special (no milk glass to be found).
While looking for parking, I saw the Country Aire Market, and popped in, only to end up looking up and down every aisle. It was fantastic. Not only did I find the puffed millet I had been unable to find in Seattle, I also found some cute local products (untasted so far, but Lamb Farm Kitchen’s products – shortbread, apple chips sweetened only with apple juice – look promising). UPDATE: the shortbread was under baked and not particularly tasty. Baking it at home failed to rescue it.
After also procuring sparkling water and a local black currant cider, I found parking on the waterfront across from Barhop and had a delicious meal at the bar.
